Boreham Motorworks is an independent automotive workshop inspired by Ford’s legendary AVO and Motorsport departments of the 1960s and ’70s. With a passion for restoring and customising classic Fords and retro performance icons, the business blends motorsport heritage with modern fabrication and engineering know-how. Visit borehammotorworks.com to see their latest builds and workshop projects.
For this project we had to create a bold, authentic, and visually impactful web experience for Boreham Motorworks – one that matched the brand’s personality and resonated with its community of car builders, motorsport fans, and performance enthusiasts. Working closely with web developer John McCole, I led the design update to the site, from expensive bloated page builder plugins, to a custom theme.
My role focused on:
Brand identity and creative direction — translating the energy of Boreham’s builds into a digital design language.
User interface design — strong grid systems, dynamic type choices, and motion elements.
Responsive mobile design — ensuring full functionality and aesthetic consistency across all screen sizes.
Performance and accessibility awareness — clear contrast ratios, streamlined code, and minimal load times.
