Designing User Experiences Across Industries – From Local Businesses to National Tourism Campaigns
This portfolio collection showcases my work designing wireframes and high-fidelity prototypes for a diverse range of projects — spanning local businesses in Scotland, building and garden maintenance services, and national tourism initiatives for VisitScotland, the Scottish Government’s official tourism body. Each project presented unique challenges, requiring me to balance user-centric design principles with brand identity, functionality, and technical constraints.
My Role | Digital Designer
As a Digital Designer specialising in UX/UI, I contributed to website and campaign projects from brief interpretation and content planning through wireframes, high-fidelity UI and developer handover. The depth of research varied by project; the work shown focuses on the design artefacts and decisions I directly produced.
Selected contributions
- Brief and stakeholder input — translating business requirements, available user feedback and project constraints into practical design priorities.
- Information architecture and content mapping — structuring content so pages and journeys were easier to understand.
- Wireframing in Figma and Adobe XD — creating low- and mid-fidelity layouts for discussion and iteration.
- High-fidelity UI design — producing responsive, brand-aligned interface designs and prototypes.
- Developer handover — preparing clear layouts and assets for implementation.
- VisitScotland email design — contributing accessible, responsive campaign designs, including COVID-19 tourism communications.
These examples demonstrate responsive design thinking, iteration, brand alignment and clear handover. Where formal usability testing or post-launch metrics were not available, I do not present them as measured outcomes.
